The story of how this offering came to be is best shared over tea or at a kickback, in a rocking chair, on a porch or stoop, somewhere in the outside or by the water.
Until we can manifest that kind of sacred communing, here are a series of poems that tell the story of this offering. A poem feels like the most appropriate way to convey the dancefloor that has been holding me through this journey, and all the peoples and energies that have joined me along this path.
The How We Be Free Reference Guide provides source materials and resources for further study and is a living document. The references included here have been gathered from ongoing independent study, from conversations with the Black Study Cohort and from various community activations of the How We Be Free Study Kit. This document will continue to grow as people engage with it.
The How We Be Free Curriculum is a resource to support ongoing reflection, independent study, small group activation, and workshops. It includes printable one-pagers of the content in the informational booklet, along with additional prompts, source materials, and resources for further study.
